What is the Field Scan?

From 2012-2015, Global Action Project with support from Data Center and Research Action Design, conducted a national research project, Media In Action: A Field Scan of Media and Youth Organizing in the United States. The project sought to understand how youth organizers are using media to advance social justice and movement-building work throughout the United States. Our research documents how and why youth organizers are using media for organizing, framing community stories, and building power. The report includes recommendations geared to funder allies and to organizers on how to increase the scale and impact of youth-led work on the ground.

Join us!

Learn from youth organizers about how they are integrating media strategies into their organizing work and reframing community narratives; participate in strategy sessions where we will exchange approaches for integrating media production and media analysis into youth leadership development, base-building and campaign strategy; connect with each other, share ideas and strategize on how to lift up and resource transformative media organizing work! Don't forget to RSVP!
